Heads up that extreme rain in northern New England is already impacting the Haddam area. The beach in front of Camp is all but underwater and it seems certain the deck at the base of the stairs will be underwater quite soon. There will also be significant debris including entire trees floating by.
Extreme high water also leads to overflow into the river from sewage treatment plants. Until the State of Connecticut tests and reports that the water is safe, any swimming is foolhardy. This could persist even after flood waters have all but receded.
